Via Shaun King | Raise the Age

The State of New York is about to decide whether or not it is going to be the last state in the nation to Raise The Age of minimum prosecution. Kids don’t belong in adult jails or prisons, but New York sends kids to adult prisons – no matter what the crime – and it’s doing tremendous harm to them.

But, and this is where it gets ugly, a few politicians in New York are playing games with this bill. It’s already passed the legislature, but the State Senate is stalling it out for the 5th year in a year. This is despicable. The bill has passed in virtually every deeply conservative state in America, but New York keeps messing this up – and people’s lives are being devastated in the process.

I am ashamed that New York has done this. Let’s let these politicians know that they need to step up and do right and Raise The Age in New York like it has been done nationwide.

Today, we have to make our presence known. We have to make it clear to each and every member of the New York State Senate that they need to pass Raise The Age.

I want you to email, call, tweet, and Facebook every single member of the New York State Senate.

I don’t care if they say they support the bill or not. Every single member of the New York State Senate needs to step the hell up and work this out…TODAY.

Here is all of their information. EVERYTHING.

Now, what I am about to tell you is the ugly truth. Some people are saying they support raising the age, but they are lying. I spoke last night with several State Senators who told me that many Democrats are saying publicly that they support it, but that behind the scenes they are either doing absolutely nothing to make sure it passes or worse – actually working against it.

Because of that, I am asking you to contact EACH AND EVERY member of the New York State Senate.

We Must Stop Trump and Elect Hillary Clinton

We can still #StopTrump! It’s not too late.

132,890 needed to reach 4,500,000 petitioning Electoral College to make Hillary Clinton president. She won the popular vote by a landslide. Please sign and share.

#FightBack #FightTrump http://bit.ly/2fFyC8f

Our voices are more important than ever RIGHT NOW. We need to continue #ProtestingTrump and making sure that we’re following REAL NEWS, not conspiracy theory, alt-right lies. We have to hold the press accountable to change the narrative and stop reacting to Trump. He can never be president, he’s far too dangerous and his cabinet appointments are proof of that. Additionally, he has no idea how to govern and doesn’t understand what it means to president, nor does he care about the law or the Constitution. We need experience, a steady hand and someone who will preserve democracy, and unite us, not divide us.

Please sign the petition, protest, donate to organizations who need our help more than ever. Together, we can fight all of the violence, rhetoric and keep our country great.
