Donate your Time in New York and Staten Island on November 4, 2012, Hurricane Sandy

Below is an email I received from NYC Public Advocate regarding donations and volunteering to help New Yorkers. Please donate what you can. Also, please check out these posts from Vicki in Staten Island here and here – All locations in Staten Island that need our help, money and time.

Help is finally starting to get where it’s needed.

We had teams out all over the city today, and all day we’ve seen volunteers lining up and donations coming in.

We have so much more to do. Below are opportunities happening in the city tomorrow. We’re all eager to bring more relief to Staten Island, and the volunteer and donation opportunities there are growing.

Please keep in mind that while help is welcome, we do not want to overwhelm any particular site. For activities involving door-to-door or vehicle needs, please make sure you RSVP to the event contact and/or the Public Advocate’s Office and receive a response before you head to your volunteer site.

If you are not receiving a response in a timely fashion (by Sunday 10am) please email volunteer@pubadvocate.nyc.gov to inquire on availability of volunteer spots at the specific site.
