Spam Without Context, What is the World Coming to?!

This was in my junk mail this morning:

“Katherine Day before today I spotted they are delivering away there grant hard cash in Burbank

The heavyweight reason why this is they are looking to earnestly cure the economy.

Basically pop “gov zwep” in the google to take a look at how to secure it like we did

Confidently yours

Aside from the nonsensical content and using words like “Heavyweight reason” and ‘Grant hard cash” in an email, I feel cheated. Spam without context is unsatisfying. Like watching Mob Wives and not seeing a fight, or watching Scott Conant forget to assail a chef for making pasta incorrectly, or watching Grease without Sandy.

I’ve come to expect spam with context:

  • “Need a Job” – Work from home making 9K a month like this single mother raising 17 children. All you need is a computer and pay $45 to get started.
  • “A pharmacy assistant certificate could be within my reach” – Sign up for an online education and an online degree in pharmaceuticals and just like that, I can get a job.
  • “Is Your Kid Cute” – This was a bit of a let down because I don’t have kids.
  • “Be a dear and accept 7.3MM for me, I’m a citizen of Ghana” – Tried and true. As old as the Internet.

After a long sigh, I realized that spam might be heading in this direction and became terribly sad. The very idea that spam might lose context, well I just don’t know that I’m ready for it.

How does it make you feel?
